Some plant dudes!

Ever played Overlord? They had these minion fellas who had four different colours and jobs. I decided to make my own version out of plants. and here they are.

The Browns are the Mushroom guys. they are physical attackers who use weapons and can wear armour and helmets to protect themselves

The Reds are the pumpkin fellas and they're as halloweeny as all hell. They use their flaming carved pumpkin heads to spit fireballs into their stalk hands so they can throw it at distant enemies. Yes, I said 'Stalk hands'. Real pumpkin leaves look nothing like that, so its just part of the vine. The main body of these guys are green, I'm currently working out a way to make them more red and Autumny so these are not the final design.

The Greens are giant pitcher-plant men! They use poisonous barbs growing out of their backs as a deadly weapons. Just like in the games they are based on they attack best from behind and look kind of like ninjas. But don't be fooled, that's not a high collar they're wearing, its a giant lower jaw. They sometimes open it when they are flabbergasted at something and it makes them look really goofy.

The Blues are an odd design. They are floating ephemeral underwater plant creatures, their only jobs is to rescue people from water, and to bring fellow plant dudes back to life by cramming their life-force back into their body.

The main reason why I did this was to practice my procedures. Making this I kept running into annoying logistical problems, I was intending to make this in such a way that I could remove and rearrange things if I ever wanted to single out an element or change somthing completely.

Observe:

Notice how its not shaded in correctly and how the blurry bit at the top is cut off? These were things I had to fix in post.

I intend to refine the design on this thing later, so its not so much of a problem. Until then though I'll keep on truckin!(TM)

HI!

A while back I made a calender, and when I say a while back I mean a looooooong while back. Recently I remade this calender featuring everything I remember.

His name is Buttons and it used to be owned by one of my brother's friends. If I remember I'll try to upload a photo of him.

I'll also try and explain exactly what I thought I was doing with this later.

Making an animation about coffee.

A Coffee that trancends barriers.

I've had a cold recently, its going away now, but for a while the symptoms have made it very hard for me to be properly rested. Had this not effected me so much then I imagine I would have had more of my animation project done.

I'm making this for the purposes of moving beyond what I did on my university course and showing my skills. Mainly as a way to fill up my website and to avoid any awkward questions in future job interviews.

That said, some of the shots of it look kinda neato:





This animation consists mostly of my illustrations that have been animated, I try not to have too many copied things in a scene if it becomes too noticeable, so a lot of new stuff is drawn uniquely for each shot.

If this works I'll try to show it to at film festivals, else I'll post it on the internet where everyone can easily see it.

I've made a website!

Its still a work in progress, I'm not sure what I want to do with it yet.

Google can't find this site very well yet, but I'm hoping that it will fix itself seeing that I just added some meta tags.

This site has been a cooperation between me and my brother, in particular he made the layout while I made all of the graphics.

This was the original logo and website name I came up with.

Its my fake company name I always call myself in my animations, usually as a joke. But as people have told me its not always contextually appropriate. And as my brother is an advertising major I'm not really justified in doubting him.

Right now I'm just creating content to showcase there as its fairly bare bones as of now.

When I look at other animators, its clear to see how easy it would be for them to pass an animation course. It also calls into question what such an award is really worth.
